What is the Omniverse?
Subscribing to the Omniverse will get you everything from short fiction to serialized versions of my longer works. I also have a podcast featuring voices from around the internet that may well be part of my efforts here. My stories run the gamut from horror to literary fiction. As a multi-genre author, two of my key inspirations are Stephen King and Ray Bradbury. As those men did, I strive to use all the tools in my toolbox to weave stories that have rich characters in weird and wonderful situations.
Why Substack?
I have a website and a podcast, as I’ve mentioned. I’m also active on Threads, Facebook, and TikTok. None of those places is conducive to sharing short stories, my first love. It seems that Substack is an ideal place to build a community for sharing those stories, and some longer works as well. I have a Patreon where I share everything I write and record. For the foreseeable future, that will remain my hub for financial support. I don’t plan on charging for anything here (though that is subject to change). I was using KindleVella for what I plan on putting here, but sadly (or happily?) that service is on the chopping block. And it wasn’t as social as Substack is.
Who Am I?
I’m just this dude. I’ve been writing off and on for over fifteen years. I wrote my first complete novel seventeen years ago and loved the experience so much I kept going. I’ve been a magazine publisher/editor. I’ve been a podcaster, both as part of a group and solo. I’ve been a blogger and a book reviewer. I’ve always maintained a day job in the tech industry. I’m a dad and a husband, as well as a Christian and a Democrat. I contain multitudes. All of these things influence my writing to varying degrees. I hope you like what you find.
